Copy the extracted directory ‘Fluffy-Panda-POI-Pack’ into your Mod Folder
e.g. C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods
and generate a new map in game using → Editing Tools → Random Gen Previewer

Cool mod pack! I used most POIs. However, the random generated aspects might need some tweaks. The wizard tower, the ship, and the zelda POI are very out of place in downtown settings, but many spawned there. Like 6+ of each in my Jonuvaba Valley map w/ increased town sizes.

PLEASE also remove the trader POIs from random gen or adjust spawning. The game spawned no less than 3-5 of each of these traders (on top of the vanilla trader POIs) because maybe it was treating them like normal POIs? Of all my POI mods, this one forced me to make the most manual adjustments. Also, if you’re going to make the POI smaller, please adjust the ground footprint too (if possible). I ended up not using any trader POIs because of this. Otherwise, I was planning on putting them near zoos like “kiosks.”

I absolutely LOVE your big POIs and weirdly enjoyed manually placing the mall, so I get that placement is a personal preference, but some would work better with spawn reduction and as wilderness POIs.

One final note: I can look at a town cluster of 50 plus POIs and maintain 60 fps. If there is a wizard tower or ship in that mix it drops fps to 45ish. I had to place each by themselves and away from other POIs. Something to do with the water maybe? Voltralux POIs don’t do this and some are huge. The game itself does get brief FPS drops as it loads chunks, zombies, etc. but I have my Vsync locked to stable 60 fps (I’m actually getting 75-80+ unlocked), it might dip to 50-55 in congested areas. Regardless, your POIs should NOT be dropping my FPS by nearly half just looking at them with no zombies around. It makes no sense.

I tested a newly generated map with these POIs and I can safely say that any drop in FPS is due to the game and NOT specifically because of Fluffy Panda’s POI’s; My FPS remained pegged between 58-60. Vanilla POIs showed about the same.
I’d suggest lowering your video settings, if this continues to be a problem.

Hi Joelony, I’ve tweaked the traders so on an 8k map you should only get about 10, increased by duplicate distance. Feel free to delete the traders before generating a map if, then you can always place them manually afterwards.
As for the wizard tower and pirate ship that doesn’t seem to be happening for me or Jimbo who kindly tested it too. My poi’s are straight vanilla blocks, although the water reflections can cause a lot of lag depending on what setting you have running. Its staying on 60fps for us. 🙂

Why are the POI’s so laggy when we’re near them ? any way to fix it on our game ? some settings or something ?

Please do not assume it’s my poi’s, 1.0 is still very buggy at the moment, I test everything thoroughly before posting.

I’ve posted my own comment but it’s waiting for approval. I want this here for posterity though:

I’m also getting FPS drops with specific POIs in this pack. Your other larger POIs, like the mall, cause no issues. The problematic POIs for me are the ship and wizard’s tower. I don’t normally have issues with water causing FPS drops, but that’s the only noticeable difference about these POIs. Other mod created POIs don’t cause this issue. In my comment I go into more detail about my specs and the issues if that helps you out in any way. Keep up the good work! Excited to see what POIs you make next.
