This mod adds back the ability to loot zombie corpse once you kill them.
Its setup as you would think to get from the zombie types, example of this is say nurses will give medical drops, Lumberjacks will give wood and a small chance of a axe, Soldiers will have ammo and a small chance of a pistol and so on.
This Mod also leaves behind a corpse prop on the ground after a set amount of time to either be harvested or as a nice visual showcase of past encounters with zombies.
This mod doesnt remove the random loot bags that zombies drop so there is a chance for “double looting” on a kill and also gives that bit of extra loot during horde nights.
NO testing has been done for servers at this time but maybe in a future patch if needed to get it working server side.
(PLEASE NOTE THIS MOD WAS MADE FOR LOOT ABUNDANCE OF 100% OR LESS, HAVING LOOT ABUNDANCE SET ANY HIGHER COULD RESULT IN op AMOUNTS OF LOOT FROM ZOMBIES)

Try adding this: ignore_loot_abundance=”true” on the lootcontainer label. This should make the loot in the zombies ignore the loot settings.
Heyo, I made a version of this compatible with Guppy’s Zombies. Let me know if you’d like to publish it or if I should make a separate post or something? First time I’ve made anything notable so just wanted to know if anyone needs it 🙂 I also have 2nd version compatible with Guppy’s + integrates Script’s “The Gourmet” items as well.
fwiw Guppy’s Zombies is not *technically* updated for 1.0, but works totally fine with no errors besides a few zombies missing high-vis vests.

I need this mod you made!
For some reason I am barely getting and loot in my zombies and I have my loot abundance set at 200% because I am a loot goblin. Most zombies are showing as empty. I am playing 1.0 and have the 1.0 version installed. Can you help me figure out why please? Thank you!
If you are using the first release V1.0 and not V1.1 then you should be getting a good amount of loot BUT even the first release did have a chance to have zero loot and if you want more you can open loot.xml and for each zombie type look for count=”0,2″ and make sure to change it to at least count=”1,2″.
If you want even more loot from each zombie change it to something like this count=”5,10″ and watch all the loot roll in.
Could you do an alternate loot drop only give nitrate,bone and rotten meat?
I could do an only nitrate,bone and rotten meat on all zombies but it will be a little bit of work and its not something I want to do im sorry to say, however you can do it yourself if you have a bit of time.
first you need to open loot.xml and look for zombieBurnt loot table as that is close enough to what you want and copy the “item name” lines of code and replace all other “item name” lines of code for all other zombie types and if you want nitrate you will just need replace the “item name’ “oldCash” or “resourceCoal” and just add this name to it “resourcePotassiumNitratePowder”.

Hello, thank you for this mod! It adds a lot of immersion, that I started to hunt specific zombie when trying to find specific loot, like hunting Tourist a chance of consumables, or Cops for pistols and bullets, which surprisingly works really well with the risk imposed by those zombie class.
I was playing at default 100% loot, and as few other has commented, the bandage from Nurse and repair kit from Janitor might be a bit too frequent, other than those, I also feel like bullets from Cops might be a bit high too. I’ve only ever found a single axe from Lumberjack in 2 whole weeks of playing, so that one might be a bit too low? Hopefully you can find a good balancing!
/I’ve been playing with additional zombie mods, and tried editing the mod code to include those custom zombies, and I’m happy to say that although the process was very tiring, the mod still works flawlessly afterward!

I will probably update once stable comes out with a new rebalance to the loot and will have 2 versions, one with left over corpses and one without.
Is there any way to set a timer for those corpses that it leaves so they despawn? ? we love the mod but do not care for all the corpses, and we can only use so much rotting flesh.
Yes there is a way to change the despawn timer as well as a way to stop them spawning the human corpse gore blocks.
To change these you will need to open the entityclasses with something like Notepad++
To change the despawn timer you will need to change the value on the first line:
TimeStayAfterDeath’]/@value”>400.
Set the 400 to something lower do reduce the time before they despawn.
To remove the human corpse gore blocks they leave behind is a bit more of a process unfortunately, in the same entityclasses file you will need to remove this line from each of the zombie types code
NOTE I cant post the full line of code but if you look for the line that has
property name=”CorpseBlock” value=”goreBlockHumanCorpse”
you will need to remove the full line of code, just the one line.
Unfortunately there is a total of 194 lines that you will need to remove to stop this feature from happening, I might look into how to code it a different way to make it a simple process to enable or disable this feature and post an update at a later point.

I have the same issue, check to make sure you have the 1.0 file not A21 bc that’s what was wrong with mine
Make sure you have downloaded V1.0 and not A21.
Works great. Rummaging through zombie pockets is quite satisfying. Played at 100% loot abundance and was swimming in repair kits from janitor and first aid bandages from nurses among other things. Played on 75% loot abundance for a short while and it feels a bit more balanced.
Thanks for the feedback, its actually a challenge trying to get a good balance from the loot table and you probably can tell that even the funpimps have trouble as some people are getting crazy good loot early ingame when its meant to be nerfed in V1.0.
I tend to play at 50% loot abundance in my playthrough and its quite good balance wise but at 100% it can get a little OP and anything higher than that is just crazy OP, maybe I can learn more about how the loot table actually works and provide an update later on.
This is one of the old features I miss the most. I hate the lootbag thing. Thanks so much for bringing us this great feature again, man. Keep up the great work!

I have re-added Alpha 21 version back for download.
Added this mod to my server and no one is able to loot corpses. V1.0.
Sorry I havent done any testing on servers as I tend to play solo, I will try and have a look at some point and add server side support.
Just wanted to comment; I had the same issue and I run the server on linux. I had to rename the ‘config’ folder to ‘Config’ (case sensitive). Hope it helps. I really love this mod btw.

When I had it in mine it did not drop any bags, and my blood moon gets a lot of zombies, got not one bag?
Thats strange about the loot bags as I have been playing up to day 14 so far and I as well as my testers have been getting them so im unsure whats happening there.
Could try a new playthrough world and see if that fixes it.
this last update made it where they drop, not sure if I like it leaving bodies all over because I can see my players just leaving them all over the place lol

So glad to have found this mod! Not sure why the Pimps took this out of the game, but there is something satisfying to searching through a corpses pocket to get a chunk of old cloth, a few bucks, or a bullet, its the little things that count. Was wondering if it were possible to incorporate the zombies from this mod? https://7daystodiemods.com/guppys-zombies/, right now only the baseline zeeks can be looted, but not the modded ones. No biggy if not, not all corpses need to have loot, would just be nice. Thank you so much for bringing back some of what was lost in the latest versions.
Not working on my singleplayer game
The mod works client side but not server side, even on a fresh map.
It works excellently on single-player but sadly not on cloud-hosted servers. Do you think you can fix that?
