Welcome to Zombie Hunter Mod, a thrilling new addition to your 7 Days to Die experience.
This mod transforms your gameplay by introducing the exciting ability to loot and harvest zombies, along with a brand new Skill Perk Tree: “Zombie Hunter”.
Dive deeper into the apocalyptic world and enhance your survival skills as you become the ultimate Zombie Hunter.
And that’s not all!
This mod also adds new consumables, powerful elixirs, books and the fearsome Zombie Hunter Blade.
You can also craft new custom weapons: Maw Bone Crusher, Hunters Axe and Skull Splitter Axe.
There are two new workstations: Alchemy Station and Butcher Station!
These additions provide you with unique advantages and strategies, ensuring that you can dominate the undead and survive the harshest conditions.
New Resources
You can craft or find new resources, which will be required in various recipes:
Resources that can be harvested from zombies:
- Zombie Organs
- Zombie Worms
- Zombie Vials
- Zombie Brain
- Cracked Skull
- Zombie Eyes
- Radiated Core (Radiated Zombies Only)
- Radiated Essence (Radiated Zombies Only)
- Feral Bones (Feral Zombies Only)
Resources that can be harvested in another way:
- Cow Skull: It can drop by breaking a cow skull “block”, which can be found on the ground throughout the desert.
Resources that can be crafted / scrapped:
- Ink Drop: Can be crafted using Paint and Oil
- Ancient Paper: It can be obtained by scrapping magazines, perk books, and schematics
- Acid Flask: Can be crafted using Acid.
Zombie Hunter Skill Tree
This skill perk tree introduces a new set of skills into the game, allowing you to unlock three main skill categories: Generic Perks, Zombie Looting and Zombie Harvest.
Generic Perks
Improve your health, stamina and experience gain with every purchased skill level.
Zombie Hunting
Improve your ability to hunt zombies, giving you a chance to loot and harvest zombies.
Hunters Craft
You have to loot zombie corpses to find three different magazines to unlock brand new items.
Transform zombie remains into powerful assets with the Undead Chefmaster, crafting nourishing meals, or harness mystical powers with the Elixir Alchemist, Magical Librarian or the Wasteland Smith which will unlock brand new weapons.
Zombie Hunting
This category unlocks the skills: “Zombie Scavenger and Zombie Harvesting”, which consists of 5 levels.
Each level progressively enhances your looting abilities:
Zombie Scavenger
- Level 1 – Novice Scavenger: Unlocks the ability to loot regular zombies. Start gathering valuable items from the most common undead.
- Level 2 – Feral Forager: Unlocks the ability to loot feral zombies. Access more valuable and rare resources from these tougher enemies.
- Level 3 – Nuclear Salvager: Unlocks the ability to loot radiated zombies. Gather the most prized items from the deadliest zombies.
- Level 4 – Treats and Tricks: Adds a small chance to find Candys while looting zombies. These consumables provide various buffs and advantages.
- Level 5 – Master Scavenger: Adds a small chance to find legendary loot while looting zombies. This includes top-tier items and Legendary Parts, essential for crafting the most powerful gear.
Zombie Harvesting
This category introduces the ability to harvest zombies after defeating them.
You can obtain bones, cloth, rotting flesh, old cash, and newly added items such as zombie organs, zombie brain, zombie eyes, blood vials, and worms.
These new items are crucial for crafting new consumables and elixirs.
The Zombie Harvesting skill consists of 5 levels:
- Level 1: Unlocks the ability to craft the Zombie Hunter Blade, essential for harvesting zombies.
- Level 2: Unlocks the ability to craft the Hunters Blade Mod.
- Level 3: Unlocks the ability to craft the Radiated Blade Mod, needed for harvesting radiated zombies.
- Level 4-5: Each subsequent level increases the quantity of items obtained from harvesting zombies, enhancing your efficiency in gathering resources.
Hunters Craft
Undead Food Crafting Skill enables you to craft consumables using items harvested from zombies.Create powerful buffs and enhancements that aid in your survival.
This Skill unlocks consumables:
- Gaze Of Clarity Smoothie
- Jar of Worms
- Organ Stew
- Neuro Nectar
- Brain Pie
- Organ Omelette
- And alot more..
Elixir Alchemist unlocks the ability to craft new elixirs:
- Heartbeat Elixir: Instantly restores 100 health and provides a short-term regeneration effect, essential for surviving intense encounters.
- Undead Fury Elixir: Boosts melee damage output against zombies, making you more effective in melee combat.
- Fortune Essence Elixir: Increases the probability of finding rare loot and improves overall luck during scavenging and looting activities.
- ApoCure & ApoCure Ultimate Elixirs: These potent elixirs treats the zombie virus, providing a 50% and 100% cure.
- Elysian Surge Elixir: Boosts your speed by 50% and gives you unlimited stamina for 2 minutes
- SkyBound Leap Elixir: Boosts your jump by 125% and reduces stamina drain while jumping by 75%
Magical Librarian unlocks the ability to craft new magical books:
- Book of Restful Recall: Magical Scroll will teleport you back to your bedroll.
- Book of Claim Return: This Scroll will instantly teleport you back to your Land Claim
- Book Of Bones: Unleash the mystical energy of the Scroll of Bones to heal all broken bones.
- Book Of Reset: Unleash the power of the Scroll of Reset to erase all learned skills, restoring your skill points
- Undead Summoner – Volume One – Five: Spawns different groups of zombies
Wasteland Smith will unlock three new powerful melee weapons:

where exactly do you craft ink drops, Ive got paint and oil and i see the fire place icon next to the drop but no crafting area lets me craft it
Hello, you can craft it inside campfire. You just have to type “ink drop” into search bar. I will fix that bug in the next update.

I installed the mod but in the Zombie Hunter Skills tree I don’t see the Hunters Craft categories: Undead Chefmaster, Elixir Alchemist, Magical Librarian or the Wasteland Smith. Is there something missing in my installation?

Hunters Craft has been moved to crafting skills.
You have to collect Zombie Hunter magazines while looting zombies to unlock certain craftable items.

Can you tell me what errors? This zombie looting version is practically the same as before. I havent updated looting zombies in any way other then adding magazines.

If you are using another mods, please try to deactivate them and try again. This happens only if my mod is in conflict with another mods.

Hello, you have to purchase main Zombie Hunter Attribute to get better weapon quality.
Yes understand that part, but is it modeled after the vanilla axes? So for instance miner 69’r would improve your use with vanilla axes.

WAR3Zuk mod has an issue with this mod, I think. when i loot, nothing happens. I spent the points into looting zombies, but it just says “push Y” and when I don’t it sounds like its looting, but nothing opens up. Any chance on a fix?
Hello, Zombie Hunter is compatible only with Vanilla zombies + Double G, Khzmusik and guppy zombies mods.
Compatibility for other mods such as Warzuks Overhaul Zombies or District Zero zombies & its robot entities, is on my to-do list and will be added in the next update(s).

Its because you dont have mods that add those additional zombies into the game.
Its not necessary to have those Zombie Mods tho.
This mod just has built-in compatibility in case you decide to use those zombie mods. You might see yellow errors when you open the console (F1), regarding the fact that you don’t have these zombie mods, but they are completely irrelevant and can be ignored.
So, you can use this mod without using any other mods, including more zombie addons.Hope that answers your question.

Hello so I decided to restart and reinstall mods cause of 1.0 and honestly had to many mods but as of Agust 21 2024 when ever I try to create a new world with zombie hunter the screen stays on loading game data and I have Double G Zombies installed but my question is what other mods are causing this mod not to work?
Hello, that almost every time cause mods, that changes ingame UI. So ur using either UI mod that is not compatible with Zombie Hunter, or using outdated UI mod.

Helo. Can you change names on zombie containers, i mean i play now on vanilla hud and when opening zombies for looting containers have wery small names, and cant see names because are so small. This is small thing but better see it in normal way not like this. Stay save.

When looting, any zombie is empty.
You have to unlock zombie looting skill in order to be able to loot zombies.

Let me explain my idea or way of thinking here.

A: Because you cant put two blade modifications together in vanilla aswell.
Q: and why cant by use with outer blade mods
E: Thats because its a special feature that requires special tool. You wont go hunting deers in the forest with just a kitchen knife, right? I know it might be too much, but i might change it in the future.

A: Thats not 100% true. You can craft Hunters Blade weapon and put radiated mod on it, so you can harvest regular and radiated zombies with just one same weapon.

Ahh thanks for info. I weery like idea of this mod and how this work. Now i know more and well i like it more 🙂 Keep it easy and think about new things because this is wery good mod what make vanilla more interesting and fun. One sugestion if i can. You can make more complex food/elixirs recipes but with more bonuses like mayby some radiation aura what damage surrendings you zombies or slowness for zombies with range , mayby health regen when radiated cop spit acid on you. Or recipe for some special armor mods what give player more resistance and power on wasteland only and some special bonuses like acid hit damage. If you know what i want say, because mod give possibilities and various ingredients from zombie bodies that can be used not only for food or potions or ammo things. Stay save.

I do NOT recommend this mod. Downloaded last night out of curiosity. Didn’t liked few things (plus it conflicts with LOT other mods), and decided to uninstall. Then after i loaded back, my entire progression (280h) has been wiped out. Everything, from inventory items, to base, all gone. Mod author should write that down to description that you should add if before you start a new game, and IF you decide to uninstall mod after you added it on current game, kiss goodbye your save.

Not sure what happend on your side, but i tried to remove it and then load my world and everything is just fine.
However i did some internet research and found that in some mods (mostly overhauls, or mods that adds into the game some new blocks / weapons etc..),existing saves and maps could end up getting corrupted as the new files would be looking for locations or content that don’t exist.
“Removing mods from a save after the fact might corrupt the save. Take for example, a mod that adds more consumables or weapons. And you have those weapons in your inventory, then remove the mod. The save doesn’t just revert back. It now contains invalid data for missing items and may not even load because it cant be validated.”
But ur right about writing it down to description. Which i will do for sure.
i have the same problem,installed this mod and couple more, and started to get error when opening 1 chest with item parts, tried to uninstall all mods, so lost everything what i had on me, and i still getting the error 😀

Hello, thats actually 7 days to die thingy.
You cant combine any blade mods (Diamond blade tip mod, Serrated blade mod and/or Tempered blade mod) even in vanilla.
They made it like that so they wont be too op. And because hunters blade mod is actually related mod to these 3 i mentioned , it wont work with them, and tbh.. i kinda like it that way, so its not really that op.
Hope you will enjoy Zombie Hunter even without ability to put more then one blade mod related on blade weapons.

Hey, it should work in your already created world. If its not, and ur using any other mods, try to please deactivate them and try it again.
I tried adding the mod to my server, and it doesnt seem to want to add into the game, my base game single player world works and my server have the same mods folder.
If its not working on your server, change folder name “config” into “Config” and it should work.

Hey, thanks for the update! Please, consider adding zombies from NPCMod addons / expansion packs, those also add some very nice zombies that I like to play with as they fit into the game nicely and spawn cleverly depending on location, for example the western zombie packs adds cowboys and cowgirls including their zombie versions which spawn in desert western style small towns, or the zombies from Darkstardragon are also nice addition. I guess I could try to make my own expansion, but I’d rather have it ine one original package.

so listen… could you check the differences between 1.2.0 and 1.2.4 I dont know what changes you made but if broke the mod in server play.. i reverted back from 1.2.4 and its fine..but.. would love the new stuff.. here is what i am thinking.. when you released 1.2.0 you had two versions, one stand alone and one for the GG zombies.. the one that was made for working with the zombies worked on the server, the other one did not.. maybe you updated the wrong pack? i honestly do not know.. just spitballing trying to help.. but 1.2.4 isnt working as 1.2.0 was. no gui skilltree etc.

no good.. the little icon for the zombie skills tree doesnt appear ( and isnt accessible ) at least not in the server environment.. idk man 🙁 1.2.0. v1 does work though
yeah i just tried it without any other mods except the ones you put up as supporting and while it works great in solo you cannot access the skilltree in server… no idea why.. you just cannot.

Just an update folks, the latest version DOES work in a multiplayer server environment. Keep in mind, you cannot run any other perk-tree altering mods, also the working environment is using the Double-G Zombies variant of this pack and working with Double G’s Zombies installed. Also, you **MUST** change the folder in the mod from ‘config’ to ‘Config’ on both server and client or it will not work.
If you want proof, look for the server called D.E.I.C.I.D.E. in the server menu to find a server currently running this mod flawlessly (under the above stated conditions)

Its definitely working under latest 326 update on multiplayer server as per above. Mind you client and server need same mods and the config directory needs to be renamed Config

That’s a bummer, I love progression and while I love this mod, sacrificing the other skill mods isnt really on the table. That being said Im 100% gonna keep this mod on the radar and hope for compatibility soon!

Even when correcting the capitalization to “Config” folder, the mod is defunct on my linux server. It breaks the entire skill system but leaves the rest of the game unaffected from what I have seen (can still continue). I can click the skills menu and no element in there reacts after an initial error in the console that is not repeated.
I hope this helps with fixing as this is a cool mod idea I would love to see finished.

Are you using it in singleplayer or server? Its currently singleplayer only (or multiplayer if both sides have installed this mod)
even with both sides installed it DOES NOT WORK ON SERVER, stop saying it SHOULD work and either fix it or label it as a solo only mod. you are claiming ability without testing to be true

i have it installed on my server, i have it installed on my client, it DOES NOT OPERATE… no new skill tree, no lootable zombies, it purely DOES NOT FUNCTION.

This mod does not work, breaks my game as does the previous mod.
It does work. If it breaks your game, its most likely because of the other mods ur using.
it clearly doesnt.. you insist that it SHOULD, the game insists that it DOES NOT. Look at the comments, EVERYONE who has tried to employ this on a server has had failure across the board. Relabel it as Solo Player Only…or fix it.
Not working for me either on my multiplayer server, I get an error every time I kill a zombie and can’t loot them.

Not working for me on server as well, only on solo.
Its not server side anymore after latest update, because of custom skill tree.
I might create server side version of this mod for players that want it for server side only.
Having issues as soon as I added does not work.
Version for Double G Zombies is not working properly for me. Everything fine until I open the perk screen, then the screen starts bugging. I was hyped with the Double G version 🙁

Are you using mod that is compatible with Double G Zombies? There is vanilla zombies only mod, and theres also double G zombie compatible mod.

Hello Murlu, I found the origin of the error for my case. I also have installed the HybridLearnByUse mod. This mod also adds another perk window and maybe this causes the incompatibility.
Deleting HybridLearnByUse solve the error and now I can enjoy this mod (I would like to enjoy both of them :P). Thanks for your fast reply, I hope this helps you to improve compatibilities.

Update: Mod does not work on my dedicated server. Started a new game and it worked fine. Not sure why.

Hello, in its current state it should work also server side.
Make a new Skill page for it like the other perks mod, dont lock it on strenght cuz this way players need to invest in it even if they dont want to.

This is a very interesting and unique way to handle zombie looting, I love it! Can you add planned support for Double G’s Zombies onto your list. His mod is currently 1.0 compatible.
Yes, im currently working on Guppy Zombies compatibility but i might add that aswell.
