Description
New update.
This mod adds a variety of trees of the northern zones to the game mainly to forest biome but now the latest version also includes some tree variants to other biomes too for example to snow biome. Trees are static and do not have any wind effects for instance in this version due to performance reasons but this is planned to be changed in the next update and in the next version when I figure the good solution out but otherwise the mod is very playable and the forest should look great.

Changelogs
- Massive improvement to snow biome so I added snowy variants of many conifer trees.
- Some new trees added for instance desert has an acacia with palm as bonus content.
- All trees use the same shaders with each other now to maximize compatibility and detail and I use Naturemanufacture’s shaders on all trees. Unfortunately wind effect addition did not succeed. It did work in Unity but the game itself didn’t seem to support it right now so I’ll check it next time some time or I might have to consider different shaders (tree creator for example usually works) but Naturemanufacture’s shaders otherwise give very good detail.
- Fixed the brightness issue in some trees like birch. This was easily fixed by choosing better shaders for them.
- This current update is mainly about improving snow environment and make it nearly match with regular forest detail but regular forest still has more tree types. This update is also like a small but great early xmas/winter special or a gift. Hope you like the new snowy forest!

I confirm the mod still works well in 2.5 so no file update needed. Lemme know if ya find anything though but after testing in latest 2.5 no issues were found so far so you can still use the same mod version.
Tested this & great work, My only issue when testing were the tree colliders, some dont seem to work when facing slightly off centre, Some work when facing slightly up & some slightly down..I assume uve applied the Collider to the parent & not the child of the object.. I tested FPS drops & added an extra 0 to the spawn code cos some were very low set at .1 & .3 decimal….
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I understand and I know this collider situation myself too. I might have to expand the colliders next time a bit as they were put manually in Unity. Some trees had their own already but some trees needed a new collider set. Hope you can still for now enjoy the mod nevertheless but I keep this in mind anyways. 👍
Correction, static version is broken in Vulcan too…
Hi there, It is recommended to use DirectX if possible as Vulkan mode is not the best working or the most supported display mode in 7dtd. With DirectX I use it works perfectly with. I don’t or didn’t even know how this mod works in other display types but good to know. I don’t think the Vulkan issue can be fixed so easily but I could check it some point but I’d recommend using either GLCore or DirectX now. Not fully sure about GLCore though but on DirectX it works flawlessly.
Ya after testing myself out of curiosity both display modes don’t work on me, only the DirectX works on me as I use Windows OS on my Lenovo Legion Laptop but I could check this some point but I can’t make any promises so I’d recommend using DirectX especially if ya use windows and if you have the correct drivers for it.
So after testing with Vulkan and GLCore mode myself in 7dtd all I see is pink literally everywhere in 7dtd including vanilla assets and blocks so it is not just my mod or possibly might be not my mod that would be behind the cause but the game itself very likely can be behind it so it also seems like I can’t really help with the issue anymore atm I am afraid. Try using a different display mode if you can. But I am still sorry for the issue. I hope changing the graphics mode fixes it for ya.
Version 3.0.5 in the normal (non-static) Version has Problems under Vulcan… ERR Desired shader compiler version 18 not available in shader blob and some types of trees are opaque pink…
Static version looks fine.
Minor update has arrived with version 3.0.5, what’s new and what’s changed?
– Wind effects finally made it’s way to the mod. I managed to get the winds work with a shader trick.
– The zipped file now contains 2 mod folders so choose only one. Regular has wind enabled and the other has only static trees so I still kept the older version in case you don’t want the wind effects.
The download link remains the same as I directly updated the mod file in the drive so the mod should be available as soon as it is updated in the cloud.
Hope ya enjoy the new update! The mod is pretty much now at it’s best state but there is still chances I might update the mod in the future.
Ya sorry guys for failing to add winds but at least our framerates will thank us though. The wind effects did work in Unity so I thought I managed it but looks like the 7 days to die game itself can be very picky with these. The shader’s other settings did work and apply though and now all trees should look better as I use the same high quality shaders on each tree. And at least now we have a fancy snowy forest now for a nice winter and xmas bonus. 😉❄️
Amazing; makes the original forests look like a Minecraft version
Hehe ya you could say that. Minecraft has great forests but I wish it also had pines with spruces but oh well. 😛
well done. this mod is amazing. im in the Germany map by dirk and the forests look awesome, this is by far the best environmental mod out there. hope it does not change its perfect. except maybe for the bright glowing leaves on the white sycamore trees but even so it still looks great. thank you for this mod.
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! Hopefully ya have fun with the mod. 🌲👍
Hola buenas, ¿este mod agregara árboles a una partida guardada y por cierto si lo otro que he dicho es que no, tengo que crear un mundo nuevo para que aparezcan?.
New save is needed for new trees to generate but however you can place crafted trees in the existing save.
I plan to finally add wind sway effects for all trees in the next update or in next version but I also have to check how the effect affects performance. So far all colours and the forest overall should look good and now all trees use custom icons. I am nowadays using the latest Unity version for mod building and for mod updates. Next planned improvements on me are the wind sway effect for all trees and maybe some new trees or model switches if some trees lack support for all features. Thanks for playing with my mods!
The sway effect for trees really? dude this will be one of the most subscribed enviro mods for sure. to think it will get even better than it already is, is mind boggling.
For some reason birch trees have bright leaves, any way to fix this?
Yes this is a pretty known issue and I am planning to update the mod with the fixed trees with the right colours soon. I might switch to different birch models in the next update but right now there is no date for it but should happen this year or next at the latest. Those current birch tree models seem to not be fully compatible with 7dtd shaders but I guess I need to do some shader tweaking in Unity for them but luckily all trees otherwise work as should and another issue which is known that those spruce trees have minor LOD issue which means that those leaves fade too soon or too near the player which also will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for your patience and I hope you can still enjoy the mod! 👍
Thank you for your answer, i really appreciate your elaboration on the issue.
Looking forward to the next release, have a pleasant day.
Hi – I download and put into my mods folder. I started a new game, but there are no new trees. Do they fall within a specific biome? I presumed that they would appear in the forest biome. Could you give more description of how to use the mod – thanks.
Did you install the mod correctly? Make sure the mod is in folder format and the modinfo.xml and config folder are at the front page in the mod’s folder. All trees should also generate in the forest biome. This mod also gives the ability to plant those trees.
I’ve been trying to get it to work but it’s loading in with blue question blocks instead of trees. It’s downloaded both client and server side, I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling it a couple times but every time it gives me this same issue. It seems to be downloading incomplete, for me it’s listed with 942 MB file size but my friend (The one who’s server I’m joining and who is having no issues on his end) says his file size is 1 GB.
May I ask, have you ever used my previous tree mods before? If you did and still have them I’ll tell you this that this new biome mod pack will not work with the legacy tree mods since they share similar block and asset ids with each other so make sure to use either this new biome mod or the old discontinued tree mods but not both. If anything that probably could be the issue but lemme know if there is something else. This new biome mod should however work well with better biomes and other biome mods that aren’t my published.
