Wild Crops

This mod adds “wild” variants to all harvestable crop plants. Normally if you harvest a randomly generated “wild” cotton plant, that plant is destroyed and will never grow back. Now when you harvest a wild plant, it automatically reverts to its seed version planted in its place. If you leave it there, it will eventually grow back into a harvestable version again and continue to do so as long as you leave the planted seed version of the plant alone. If you hit/harvest the seed after you harvest the plant, then you take the seed into your inventory and the plant is destroyed. You may then plant the seed in your own farm plot. You also have a chance to harvest a seed when you harvest the plant, depending on your seed/farming skills.

This mod also brings back the Snowberry plant, and removes it from being spawned in the Pine Forest, restricting it only to the Snow biome. Blueberry plants are now removed from the Snow Biome and restricted to only the Pine Forest. In addition to the Snowberry plant, there are new items and recipes that can be learned. Snowberry juice and Snowberry Pie basically replace the blueberries in the recipes to snowberries, but the Snowberry Juice gives water, food AND health, Snowberry Pie gives food and health. You make these using Snowberry Extract. You can make a Snowberry seed using 5 snowberries. You can use the snowberries to make Herbal Antibiotics.

I have included in biomes.xml code to randomly spawn “wild” versions of corn, pumpkins, mushrooms, hops, and potatoes only in the Pine Forest. There is also a small chance to find random wild Super Corn in the Wastelands. If you don’t want the snowberry/blueberry restrictions or wild corn, potatoes, mushrooms, etc then just remove the biomes.xml file from the mod folder.

This mod is best used in a new map, but it will work in an existing game but if you choose to include the biomes.xml then the plants may or may not spawn depending on chunk age; but the harvesting wild plants to planted seeds will still work for all crop plants.
