Beta Notice
This mod is currently in beta testing. Many parts of the UI are still unfinished or subject to change, and errors may occur during gameplay.
For safety:
Compatibility: This mod is almost certainly not compatible with other UI/HUD mods. Use only one UI overhaul at a time. If you must try others, load this mod last—but conflicts are likely.
Always backup your save before installing.
Or start a new world to avoid possible issues with older saves.
Use at your own risk – feedback is highly appreciated!
This mod is working for game version 2.+
Welcome to Exclusive Grunge UI & HUD, a custom interface overhaul for 7 Days to Die.
This mod brings a fresh, gritty look to the game’s UI while keeping everything clean and easy to read. The HUD is more compact, tooltips are clearer, and windowmenus are polished with stylish color accents.
It doesn’t change gameplay or balance – only the way you see the world. Perfect if you want a unique, friendly interface with a bold grunge aesthetic.
Main Menu:
– of the Exclusive Grunge UI & HUD mod delivers a darker, more atmospheric experience, drawing players into a gritty post-apocalyptic world before the game even begins.
Key Features:
Atmospheric Background: The default menu background has been replaced with a moody, swamp-like wasteland scene to set the tone for survival.
Horror Details: Subtle silhouettes and horror-inspired figures flank the screen, adding an unsettling vibe.
Button Design: All main buttons have been restyled with grunge-inspired textures for a worn, metallic look.
Minimal Layout Changes: The overall layout remains familiar, but adjusted spacing and cleaner alignment enhance readability.
Immersive Feel: The redesigned style aims to create tension and immersion right from the start, matching the survival-horror atmosphere of the game.
Loading Screen:
The Exclusive Grunge UI & HUD loading screen keeps the tense, post-apocalyptic vibe alive while the game prepares your world. Industrial overlays, worn textures, and a clear progress readout make waiting feel atmospheric—not empty.
Key Features:
Atmospheric Background: Moody wasteland art carries over from the main menu for a seamless tone.
Industrial Overlay: Grunge mesh frame with rotating gear motifs around the progress text (“Loading game data.”).
Redesigned Tips Panel: Bold section title, clearer typography, improved spacing, and higher contrast for readability.
Icon Refresh: Clean, consistent input icons (mouse/keyboard) styled to match the grunge theme.
Subtle Animations: Light rotations and fades to add motion without distracting or hurting performance.
Ultrawide Ready: Layout tested for 16:9 and 21:9; elements remain centered and legible.
Performance-Friendly: Pure UI changes—no gameplay impact, minimal overhead.
In-game HUD:
The Exclusive Grunge UI & HUD focuses on clarity and mood: less clutter, higher contrast, and worn-metal accents that sit on the world without getting in your way.
Key Features
Top Info Bar: Day / time / compass consolidated into a slim strip with clear tick marks and bold cardinal letters.
Minimap & Navigation: Grunge-framed minimap with a sharper player arrow and improved readability at small sizes.
Vitals & Status: Cleaner health/stamina/food/water counters with bold numerals and unobtrusive icons for quick scanning.

Scaling & Aspect Ratios: Looks crisp from 90–110% HUD scale; tested on 16:9 and 21:9.
Vehicle HUD
Analog Dials: Cinematic gauges for Speed, Vehicle Health, and Fuel (E/F scale) with 0–100 tick marks.
Bottom-Center Docking: Stays out of the action while remaining readable in third-person and first-person views.

Grid Clarity: Darker slot tiles with subtle texture; sharper selected-slot outline; locked/empty mod slots are easier to spot.
Queue & Output Separation: Thin dividers and improved margins make the crafting queue and result slots easier to scan.
Increased Backpack Size
No Gameplay Changes: Pure UI work—recipes, weights, and mechanics remain vanilla.
Other Window Panels:
Of course, all the other windows have been redesigned in the grunge style as well. Some are only lightly tweaked, while others—like the Skills window—have been completely overhauled.
