Description
Undead Country was made with the intention of changing the mostly dead world with only a few zombies outside, to an actual apocalypse with zombies roaming the streets.

VERSION 1.1:
–Pick a starter kit depending on what tree you want to go into
–98 slot backpack
–Better biome progression. Craft the protective gear you need for each biome.
–Hive quests. Ultra infested clear quests.
–Invasions. Zombie hordes will periodically invade you as you try to survive.
–Custom guns, (New models, vanilla animations) tools and melee weapons
–Numeral UI
–The wasteland and burnt forests have the desert lighting.
–Cardboard boxes, wine barrels, ammo pallets, hydroponics and many others can now be looted.
–Five storage crates added. (Ammo crate, fridge etc.)
–Ten craft stations have been added. (Chem set that makes drugs, barrel that makes acid etc.)
–Looting boss zombies allows you to craft mutation armor mods. These mods increase your damage, max health, stamina and some give a specific buff.
–Tough zombies have less health early game, but there are more of them.
–Non lootable zombies despawn faster.
–Twelve + zombies are lootable.
–Over twenty eight custom remixed zombies have been added. Including two tiers above radiated.
–Zombies that spawn in the world have a random walk type.
–Wandering hordes are far larger. (Around 24 – 30 zombies per horde)
–Multiple item mods. (Arrow reload mod, bicycle speed boost mod.)
–All guns are far better. They have increased range, damage, fire rate, accuracy and
aiming down sights has been fixed and aims where the bullet shoots.
–Poison ammo. Deals damage over time.
–Trader will give you a pistol on completing intro buried supplies.
–Seven rare powerful melee weapons (with new models) have been added that can only be found in loot.
–Adds an acid crafting system.
–Multiple new food and drug items.
–Research Bench. Scrap unneeded magazines and books to craft other magazines or Schematics for new items.
–Bone arrows.
–Changed how looting works. Gun bags and safes can spawn low level guns. Tier 1 and 2 end loot has better items and some ammo.
Tier 3, 4 and 5 locked chests contain the best loot in the game. Guns, melee weapons, ammo, meds, mods and other valuable items.
Bum rushing Dishong tower on day 1 is a viable strategy.
–Traders will give guns as quest rewards.
–New food and workstation progression trees.
–Infested quests have many more zombies.
–Twelve quests added that focus on killing a zombie boss.
–Craft painkillers, vitamins and mega crush.
–The forest and every other biome can now spawn huge cities. Small towns have better POIs as well.
–Zombies have a very high spawn rate. Most at night and downtown.
–Traders sell some new items
–And many other small QOL changes, like the glass jar being back.
–Food replaces candy and gives special buffs

- Fixed an issue where the computer would sell the wrong water filter
- Fixed an issue where a firemans’s almanac book gave you 100% run speed

- Fixed an issue where you couldn’t craft poison ammo
- Better biome storms. Being in a storm no longer damages you. You now move slower or have a stamina regeneration penalty depending on the biome storm.

i need the 1.2 how can i get dat file?
is Z-Xide supposed to be sold by Traders? based on the description we get I figured we had to go looting for the recipe, but Jen just has a couple in her pocket apparently? I also seemed to have just lost the hive-mind status even without taking the cure, happened after I died

The 1.3 update is for 7 days 2.3 Exp. If you’re not playing 2.3 just don’t update until you are.

The error will disappear if you update the 7DTD main version to 2.3 (B6).
Ah gotcha yeah I hadn’t noticed it was for version 2.3. I jumped the gun a little.
After updating to 1.3, the crafting menu seems to be bugged. Not sure what happened but have to revert back to 1.2 for the time being. Hope this gets fixed 🙁
The excessive screamers are insufferable. It’d be great without it. Getting attacked constantly is not fun, especially playing by yourself. Also overrides enemy spawning = off global value so playing by myself I get screamers on day 4 and a hoard army. Ridiculous. Unwinnable fights are not fun.
I feel the same as most of you guys, I love the crafting and pretty much all of it except for how many freaking zombies there are. It’s day 5 and we still haven’t managed to get anything done because of how many that are roaming around. Is there a way to turn the number of zombies down?
Love some aspects of the mod, but really the new screamers are horrible. I just wish I could get a break from zeds while working on my base, so yeah there is a love/dislike with this mod but it is great. Keep up the good work, I just am not that hardcore and this mod has me screaming at the game at times.
I both love and hate the mod, I hate how I can’t do anything without zeds pissing me off and trying to get into my base. I want a nice easy build, is there going to ever be any kind of zed deterrent added? I can’t stand the constant attacks when mining, or building or crafting. Love the mod for other reason, keep up the work. Just I am not that hardcore and this mod is seriously too hard.
I really enjoy this mod, In some ways i feel like it’s better than vanilla. But the newest version is super annoying… Way to many things affect your vision. The new screamers are strait up terrible… Between them and the constant puke and radiation machine gun. Dang…. I do want to say thank you for the hard work and i look forward to checking this out in future updates.

So i’m sure this is a glitch, but I died and when I respawned, the Invasion status was gone, and I was no longer part of the hive-mind. I have not taken the z-xide cure at any point, im only on day 3. Is there a way to get it back? feels like without it, i’m missing part of the core of this mod
This mod looks fantastic! I like to add mplogues prefabs, urban decay and better biomes. I tried last night and got a lot of errors. Are these mods not compatible or have I installed wrong? Ty!

I really like the mod. But midway through day 1 when I run I’m zooming around faster than my minibike. I don’t have any buffs. Have several other mods installed (Better Biomes, Urban Decay, Vehicle Madness and Sam’s Working Stuff), but other streamers seem to be using this combo okay. Any idea why I’ve got mad zoomies when running? Checked DM for god mode and all that’s off).
It’s a bug with one of the perk books (firemans’s almanac axe speed 5%) It’ll be fixed soon.
Hi Blundy, the problem is within your progression file. It is the 4th or 5th line from the top where it states that once the almanach nr.3 is acquired, the run sped is increased by 1.
Delete that line and the bug is gone.

All the new guns are great, problem is your fire a couple of shots and you get an endless spawn of ghost queens and screamers which summon in more screamers and zeds until your game has 5 fps. oh and if this happens at the 5th or 6th time you get a 30+horde running past your base then its time to go do something else. Please man this is a great mod, endless screamers do not make the game fun- let me shoot my guns.

Please, I’ve just ragequit on day 28 – running a single forge and I have gummis, juggernaughts and every single flavour of ghost/screamer – off of a single forge running.

@ Double Blundy Hello! I’m curious if there is a way to add higher tier tools, weapons, etc, to the starter packs on Undead Country. I’m totally new to learning this stuff, so would appreciate any guidance. This is strictly for my own private use, I would not make this knowledge public without express consent.
This isn’t a big deal at all, just something I found a long the way. The “Health Boost” is missing an “a” so it reads, “Helth Boost”.

great mod, however I’m getting a lag spike anytime zombies spawn (in POI, wilderness, etc.) , no idea if anyone else has the same issue or it’s a WIP
Been using this overhaul with about 60 extra mods for 28 in-game days and no issues myself, but I’m using a 9800x3d with 5070ti.
I don’t know if it’s this mod but the so much as clicking on the chicken ration recipe causes a massive crashing error. I don’t think the chicken cans like me….

Phenomenal mod! Adds a some real survival back in, the zombie variants are fresh, scrap tools and weapons are always great to find in an overhaul.
How can I increase the amount of bullets I can carry? I’ve tried changing it from the item file but it doesn’t work.

Really enjoying my playthrough so far, but is there a way to turn down the zombie spawns? They spawn in so many, so fast, that I can barely get from one POI to the next. Took me half the day to fight my way back to the trader and when I was leaving a giant horde spawned and actually climbed the walls of Trader Hughs place!!! I like killing them but I’d like to explore a bit too. Mod is well done though, the QOL adjustments are just what I was looking for, lots of new and old stuff, flows really well so far.
In the “spawning” xml you can change the “MaxCount” value to something lower.
