LittleRedSonja Ammunition Recycling

7 days to die littleredsonja ammunition recycling

This is a very simple mod that allows you to recover 80% of the resources from unwanted ammunition in a very easy straightforward way.

You open the ammo and recover the materials in the workbench.
No schematics or levels in crafting skills needed.

It includes 9mm, 7.62, Magnum .44, all the different ammunitions for shotguns and rockets.
It takes some time to get the materials back. Opening and recovering materials from more complex types of ammunition, such as rockets, takes more time (but they will not explode, LittleRedSonja promise 😉).

Like all her other mods so far, this mod is “Server-side-only friendly” (if you play multiplayer the mod only need to be installed in the server, if you play single player install the mod as usual).

If you want her to add modded ammunition let her know what mod you want to make compatible and she will look into it 😊

She hope you enjoy the mod 💜. Let her know too if you have suggestions or find bugs. 🥰

Frequently Asked Questions

1- Is your mod compatible with X, Y or Z mod? : Yes, as far as she know her mod is compatible with every other single mod for 7DTD, including of course all her other mods, even full conversions or overhauls should be compatible as long as they do not remove the vanilla ammunition. If you find a mod that is incompatible with hers please let her know and she will see if a compatibility patch can be made.
2- Can the mod be used server side only?: Yes, the mod can be used both server side only (so if the server where you play have it installed you do not need to install it yourself) or client side (if you play solo instead of multiplayer then you install the mod as usual).

HOW IT WORKS

1- Open the workbench. In the left panel, in “Ammo/Weapons” category you will see recipes for “Recycled Ammo” bundles for each type of ammunition.
2- Make sure you have the ammunition you want to recycle in your backpack.
3- Select the recipe for the type of ammunition that you want to recycle and click “craft”. You can craft more than one bundle at a time as long as you have enough ammunition in your backpack.
4- After a few seconds you will get one or more “Recycle Ammo” bundles.
5- Open the bundle, in the same way you would open other bundles in the game, to get the recycled materials. What materials you get depends on what kind of ammunition you are recycling. DO NOT SCRAP the bundle, just OPEN IT.
6- Profit 😉

Ammo Recycling Bench

For people playing solo or in servers that allow server + player side mods, she has added an optional Add-On, that includes a custom made “Ammo Recycling Bench”.

If you install it you will recycle the ammunition in that new bench instead, freeing the workbench to craft other things. The new bench is crafted in the workbench.

It is a 1×1 bench, and it can be placed on top of any block at any height, so you can decorate your base with it however you want.

Unlike the main mod, which is server-side, the add-on requires install in both server and player computer, since it adds custom assets.
It is optional, and not required to use the mod, just a little extra nice detail that she wanted to add in case you can use it.

She hope you like it and remember, it is not required, just an optional nice thing to have 💜

Changelog

Main Mod UPDATE 1.6.0

  • Added support for “Rebirth” overhaul. You can recycle the new ammunition included in Rebirth. Adjusted costs and returns for some of the recipes to match costs in Rebirth. To recycle the ammunition in the workbench you need Hammer & Pliers. Added compatibility to use her custom “Ammo Recycling Bench” if you want, as optional (not required). Like with all the other supported mods, all this changes only applies if you have that mod (Rebirth in this case) installed.
  • Added support for “Oakraven Ammo Press” mod, so you can recycle your ammo in that bench instead if you have that mod installed.

Custom Ammo Bench Update 1.1.0

  • Added support for “Rebirth” overhaul, if you want to use the custom ammo bench together with that mod. It still requires the main mod to work.

You only need to update the mod or the workbench if you want to use them together with the new supported mods.
She hope you like the update, and let her know if you find any bugs or issues 💜

Optional Ammo Bench Update

A Tiny Update for the OPTIONAL Ammo bench (nothing new for the main mod, that one is unchanged, the update is just for the Ammo Bench Add-On)

1.0.1 – Fixed the bench description not showing up. Now it will.

Thank you seven2166 for reporting the glitch 💜.

UPDATE 1.5.0

  • Added Support for “The Wasteland” overhaul. Now you can recycle the ammo and explosives included in this mod.
    • IMPORTANT: For “Ammunition Recycling” to work fine together with “The Wasteland” make sure her mod loads AFTER The Wasteland mod. To ensure that please rename her mod folder to z_LittleRedSonja_AmmoRecycling.
  • Added Support for both versions of “Firearms Expansion 5“. Now you can recycle the new ammo and explosives added by this mod.
  • Edited some of the colors for the recycled ammunition icons for both Vanilla and some of the supported mods.

This is one the biggest update she has made for “Ammunition Recycling” in terms of added support for other mods. She hope you like it! 🥰

Let her know if you find any bugs or issues, and also if you have suggestions or want support added to other mods 💜

Is it possible to have this mod also be able to breakdown 5.56 ammo that other mods have added to the game?

Hi, thank you for the question! 💜
Right now it is already possible to break down 5.56 ammo that izayo weapon pack includes. I am not aware of other mods adding 5.56 ammunition to the game. So if it is from Izayo, support is already implemented. If it is from other mods yes, absolutely, I am more than happy to add support for any other mod that adds custom ammo. So if you tell me the name of the mods I will take a look and most likely be able to add those too. 😊

Do you need the mods this one is compatible with (Izayo and District Zero), or can it be used on its own?

Hi!
The mod can be used on its own, it has no requirements or dependencies on any other mod, so do not worry.

Hi!
This mod does not edit, add or change anything in game windows or menus, it only adds recipes for disassembling ammunition, nothing else, and unless you have some other mod installed that is doing really weird stuff it is impossible that something like what you describe even happens.
If your crafting menu goes blank you probably have some other mod installed that is causing trouble, specially mods adding DLL, or game files corruption, or if you are using an old version of 7days to die (the mod is for 1.0 and later version only).
Those are the first things I would check to solve your issue. If you cannot figure it out you can provide me with a list of your mods, and I can help to see if any of those could cause the bug you describe.
So far I have not found any mod that could be incompatible with mine, and after testing it both single player and multiplayer with almost another 90 mods installed, and several thousand players using the mod, I have never seen or being reported of any bug at all.
In any case, like I said, check for other possible mods causing the bug, or provide me with a list of your other mods, and I will be more than happy to try to help you 🥰
