Black Wolf’s Quests Grant Skill Points (A21 – 1.0 – 2.0)

7 days to die quests grant skill points balanced, 7 days to die experience, 7 days to die skill points, 7 days to die quests

Description

This mod allows you to get skill points as a quest reward, this was balanced for hard playthroughs with the default or lower EXP multipliers, as i think that 100% is simply not enough to keep up if you try to challenge yourself with harder difficulty, biomes, etc. So i do not advice to install this if you play on 200% and above EXP multipliers.

On top of that, the game is too focused on meta skills and skill trees like intellect, this should be able to balance it out allowing you to max out weaker skill trees and making it easier to max out level 9/10 when in lategame.

List of Changes

  • Tier 1-2: 1 skill point
  • Tier 3-4: 2 skill points
  • Tier 5-6: 3 skill points

Additionally, you will get extra skill points for TIER COMPLETION quests.

  • Tier1 completion: 1 skill point
  • Tier2 completion: 2 skill points
  • Tier3 completion: 3 skill points
  • Tier4 completion: 4 skill points
  • Tier5 completion: 5 skill points
  • Tier6 completion: 6 skill points

After some playtesting, i’ve decided to keep the reward even for trader opening missions, so it discourages players less from traveling a couple of kilometers just for 500 exp.

Tried downloading and installing the mod,but when I do I cant move the file into the mod folder. It interupts me and says “The File Name you specified is not valid or too long. Specify a different file name” for the “Quests” File. Best i can figure, the quest file for your mod is clashing with the quest config file instead of,presumably, adding your code to the config and altering it with the changes. I dont know if thats something im doing wrong or not but if you know how to fix that and could help me with that id greatly appreciate it! 🙂 Thank you either way

Yeah that’s not how things work, you are unzipping the folder of my mod before moving it into your mods folder right? That’s really a weird error message i never seen before. What is showing this message? Your operating system? The game? I need more context though I’m not sure I’ll be able to help i guess I’ll try.

so it appears that Windows 11 doesn’t like the name “quests” for that file. I don’t know why, and i’ve never seen something like this before.

Though here’s what you could do to fix it: try to rename the file to something else while it is inside the archive, then try unzipping it. If it works, once it’s in the “Mods” folder, re-name it back to “quests”, hopefully it’s going to work.

this mod specifically broke my missions in the 2.0 experimental branch. I have a long list of mods, so it could be this in combination with another one, but getting rid of this one fixed it.

It broke your missions in which way? What happened exactly?

Hello, which line do I have to change if I want to have 1 skill point every second quest? Is that even possible?

i’m actually not entirely sure, but probably not possible. The code gives you the skill point as reward after completing the quest, and each quest gives a reward.

Ive been using it and noticed I was getting one skill point per mission. Is this how it’s supposed to work? One point per quest?

It’s based on the tier of the quest. Read the description for more info

it is supposed to be like that. You will start getting 2 skill points from level 3 quests.
