  1. Does this mod work with Darkness Falls mod installed? Not sure if Darkness Falls affects skill point gain per level or not.

    1. It probably won’t work. Overhaul mods make extensive changes. Using different mods with them can always cause problems. But you are free to make a backup of your save and try it.

    1. Overhaul mods change many things, and if you use this mod with mods that change skill points, this mod will not work.

  2. Is this server side or not I did not see anyone ask that. Sorry if this question bothered you or if it’s an obvious answer I should have seen I just got the game and was curious

  3. was great when i get to spend 1 points per skill then came the moment where 2 point/skill is needed. thanks

  4. Im running A20.6(b9) using the 15 point skills, it doesn’t seem to be working. Does this mod conflict with other zombie mods?

  5. I noticed using the Grandpa’s Fergit’n Elixir will reset the characters skill points to the default value instead of what this mod adds, any idea on how to get it to reset to the mods values?

      1. Thank you so much. I love you modders. You Keep games going! Never listen to any haters, you are the people that actually keep the games fresh.

  6. One thing I’ve been looking for a long while is a mod that gives you a boost in points per level from the start and then reduces it as you get higher in level. I worked out a table and even a formula for the calculation, but don’t know how to mod at all. The idea is based on a Skyrim mod that lets you edit a config file like this:

    Current level:points at level up
    1:3
    10:2
    40:1

So starting at level 1 you would get 3 points per level, then from 10 onward you would get 2 per level, then from 40 you’d get 1 point per level.

    1. Excellent Idea. Using your Idea on my new game. 5 per till level 5, 3 till 15, 2 per after that. Really a great idea. I played a recent game on nomad and the day 28 horde destroyed 2 of my bases. Almost all irradiated and even demolishers, on day 28 Nomad setting… With the new magazine crafting I only had pipe guns and baseball bats… This helps balance some of that.

  7. it’s probably easier to go into progression.xml, on the top of the file change the perk points per level that to install then put it in mods

    1. A big NO. You can’t just move xml files into the Mods folder. It will not work. Also do not edit the main files of the game. Click download and install the mod (If you don’t have the version you want, edit the mod file for yourself). That’s the easy one.

  8. I have installed the mod, and I don’t really know how exactly to activate it, I had them all in one file under mods, it didn’t work, so i deleted all but 1 of them from that file, so there was only the one under ‘mods’ because I figured I had them all activated and it was messing with the file, but it still wont work.

    1. You just need to put the version you want to use in “Mods” folder. For example, if you want to use “10 Skill Points Per Level”, you just have to put it in “Mods” folder, not all of them. It should be like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods\10 Skill Points Per Level

  9. I have a server through 7d2d net. I have uploaded this mod like many others and this one does not seem to take effect. Do you know how I could solve this?

    1. Sorry for the late reply. I have no experience with Nitrado. However, when you install it properly as I mentioned above, it should work. If it still doesn’t work, there may be a related problem with your server.

    1. You only need to install the mod on the server files. For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die Dedicated Server\Mods\10 Skill Points Per Level

    1. Sorry for the late reply. I don’t think a simple skill point mod would cause such an error. The problem may be related to the other mod(s) you are using.

      1. Where exactly do I put the mod? There isn’t a mod folder. (And if I have to create a mod folder, where to I put it?)

  10. Sorry for the noob question => If I have this mod, but a friend of mine does not have it and I joined his server, will this take effect?

    1. I’ve never tried anything like this before. It could probably work for you. But it is best to install the mod on the server.
