Description
Work in progress experimental version of the Boating Modlet now at Version 8.1 for V2.0 and is backward compatible with V1.0
Launch
Place the boat on/in water in a ‘shallow water’ area, if you have no shallow water in your map then build a small launch dock, then add fuel to boat.
Controls
Steering is A and D as per vanilla settings ….the mouse is for looking around only and has no affect on steering these two boats.
W is forwards and S is slow down/reverse ..If you let go of w and shift (Turbo) then the boat slowly comes to a stop, pressing s will slow the boat down more quickly this replaces spacebar as the brake key.
**** IMPORTANT INFO For this Version ****
Space bar and c no long control the tilt angle …pressing them will make boat bob up and down in this version, XML has changed to self levelling method.
If you hit a water bank or object in the water the boat will tilt but can now be corrected by simply turning left or right and circle round a bit.
To anchor boat and stop it drifting away just slow down come to a halt and the self levelling xml should bring you to a fixed position, useful if you have a fishing mod installed (Experimental method.
Crafting
The Boats are craftable in a standard workbench with no progression needed as the boats are intended as an early game version at the cost of resources and actually making a working workbench.
The recipe is simple and uses in game resources.
If anyone wants to change the recipes and build methods then please do so but let me know how you improved it.
Other Info
Boats can be picked up into inventory, if you sink it at any point, although be careful if you sink it too far away from the shores as it could be a long swim back.
Additional credits: ActiniumTiger for texture’s for Dinghy.

This is one modlet i wish FunPimps would make part of the game. I didn’t think this was even possible with the game being voxel. Works well in multiplayer game.
I’m not getting any image graphic for the boat.
I can craft it but there is literally no image.
I’ve installed the mod both locally and server side and am running without eac on testing it out.
I’d love to have this mod in 1.0. I certainly miss it from my game. Any chance of that happening out of curiosity?
could you make the storage space a little more realistic, having gone white water rafting I can tell you the rubber ones have zero storage anywhere… might make it like 4 at max
I’d make the flatbottom boat have exactly the same storage as a cooler – even preserving
Is there any way of using existing assets to make this a serverside mod? – thank you
This is incredible! Kudos to everyone involved in making this mod.
just wow
It floats well, and I can steer it like an outboard. The trim of boat is same as changing the trim of the Gyrocopter, nice. I use my Gyrocopter Down Pitch controller layout, in Community Template from Steam. I have over 3500 hours in 7D2D waiting for this mod to show up, thanks.
Can this be added to an existing world or would it have to be a new save/new world?
I just placed this boat into my existing world.
can it hold more ppl
Does this work on A18? I only see a zip file as A19
does this work in multiplayer? the wife and I would love it if it did!
If you can play on a private server yes, or you okay on a client side Aka you and here will be the only ones with it, as with most mods, you will need to have it installed on both machines.
