Skyrim Style Lockpicking MiniGame

7 days to die skyrim style lockpicking minigame, 7 days to die tools

Like the title says, SphereII and Xyth missed the Skyrim style lockpicking mini game so they introduced it into the WinterWeen mod. It was well received, so Xyth is releasing a mod of the locks that work with the lockpicking code added to SphereII’s Core.

The difficulty of the locks is configurable in the core, but it set to offer a challenge but not be impossible for folks that didn’t master lockpicking in Skyrim. To pick a lock, press “E” on any locked door or chest. A lock will appear, and you must guess the position of the top lockpick by moving it with the arrow keys or mouse. Once you think you have the position, press the spacebar to turn the lock. The locks are tied into the perk system and the inventory system, so you will need lockpicks in your inventory. Each perk level into lockpicking make it less likely you will break a pick, and reduced the time between attempts. However, they randomized lock difficulty so any one can be really hard or almost too easy.

This mod contain some purchased assets and code, so while you may use or include this mod in you game or overhaul, you cannot make edits to the models or code without purchasing your own copy of the assets from the Unity store. It’s cheap though 🙂

If this mod is popular they may add additional features in A21.

Thanks to Mumpfy for adding the branding to the lock textures!

Turn EAC Off when using this mod!

Installation

0-SCore mod is REQUIRED, as it has the code for the locks to work.

Changelog

  • (new) Should be fixed in the A21.1 version of SCore
  • Please use Version: 21.0.49.958 of SCore to fix the lockpicking of police cars.

  1. Working great with 21.2 (b37)

One issue of sorts though – I’m not sure if it’s your mod, or the S Core mod, but it seems to change how tall you are when you crouch. You can now squeeze into one-block high gaps, where you couldn’t before. I didn’t necessarily want that changed, but it’s not the end of the world.

  2. It works perfectly, I only have a problem when it comes to repairing or improving structures, it doesn’t let me

  3. does this mod have controller support now? I used another one like this before on the Undead mod.

  4. Works great!
But, is there a way to customize stuff?
Like sensitivity of the mouse movement(very low sens atm), Difficulties(It is way too easy atm I believe, prob 30degree for sweet spot range)

  5. Please Update this mode. I need the mod as a guy who love skyrim and lockpicking in game.

  6. Works great now and makes lockpicking interesting! With practice and a point in lockpicking, you can sometimes get in with a single lockpick. No more of that vanilla countdown nonsense plus with some luck you can get in much faster.

  7. I’m on A20 stable b238, and I’ve opened 2 wall safes and 1 gun safe so far. There was nothing inside any of them. The “action” is great, using the arrow keys and spacebar, the mouse (I don’t even remember if that was recommended as an option) gives weird positioning.

It’s a great mod, just needs tweaked.

  8. if i lockpick a chest with this mod, there is always nothing inside, and if i destroy it, there is loot.
i’ve tried this quite often, but its every time the same. In addition, i can move the pick with my mouse, which completely disorient the lockpicking position i have to set, to unlock the lock

  9. Hey guy i dont want to have to download all of your mods, can you make the lockpicking seperate from the rest on your github?
