CraftFromContainers V1.0 – Experimental Local Play and Party Access MOD

7 days to die craftfromcontainers v1.0 experimental local play and party access mod

This MOD is an experimental version of CraftFromContainers V1.0, designed to provide storage access for both local play and party members. Please note that this is a preliminary version and may contain bugs or issues.

Key Features

Local Play Access: Allows storage access during local play (single-player mode). Players can access storage even when not part of a party, provided they are playing alone in a local game.

Party Access: Restricts storage access to party members when playing in multiplayer.

Important Notice: Since this is an experimental MOD, you may encounter unexpected behavior or bugs. If you experience any issues or have feedback, please leave a comment or report the problem so that improvements can be made.

Thank you for your support and understanding!

Additional Configuration

{
"modEnabled": true,
"isDebug": false,
"enableForRepairAndUpgrade": true,
"partyEnabled": true, (NEW)
"range": -1.0
}

Changelog

  • (new) Minor adjustments.
  • We have adjusted the handling of writable containers. Previously, there was a possibility that existing containers could be read multiple times when new containers were added. Additionally, there was a chance that existing containers outside the range set by the config file were also being read. Now, when new containers are detected, the system checks if there are any existing containers within the specified range and reads them accordingly. As a result, we expect that duplicate readings of existing containers will be significantly reduced. Thank you for your continued support.
  • We have recently received reports about an issue where an error occurs when using campfires in the vicinity of a writeable container. To address this issue, we have improved the code and optimised the logic regarding container loading.
  • Fixed issue where WritableCrate detection was failing even when the crate was present.
  • This update resolves a bug that caused WritableCrates to not be properly recognized during certain operations.
  • Fixed an issue where some storage boxes (writable containers) were not properly upgrading when upgrading from iron to steel.
  • Made several minor adjustments to address other behavioral inconsistencies.

Will this mod pull from wall safes or does it have to be the writable storage containers?

Thanks

Experiencing an error in our group when using this:
ERR [Xui] Error while updating window group ‘crafting’:
EXC Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Are we doing something wrong that is causing this or is it a bug that needs fixed?

Thank you for your valuable feedback. This mod is still in the experimental stage, but I have an improved version available in my GitHub repository titled “CraftFromContainers (In Party) V2”. Please give it a try, and let me know if you encounter the same error.

Best regards.

And if other mods are also installed and the order in which the mods are loaded may be relevant, it may be a good idea to try switching the order (e.g. putting a-z at the beginning of the file name: zzzz_CraftFromContainers).

Seems as though the mod isn’t working at all. I have the folder in my mods folder, I’m not new to modding by any means. I checked the config and it seems fine in there. Not entirely sure why but neither me nor my friends can use any storage crafting or upgrading at all. I tried placing down new storage boxes as well and still nothing, not sure what the issue is

Check the Mods folder provided by the game developer, The Fun Pimps, for a folder called 0_TFP_Harmony. This is a required folder and for being a file; it is an important part for the mod to function.

This mod is designed to provide access to storage for both local play and party members.
When playing with multiple players, you need to be in a party group for it to work, what is the situation?

Yup, we are always in a party and their files have harmony and everything else set up correctly as well. Not entirely sure what the issue is

Storage crates when upgrading from iron to steel, doesnt upgrade unless you have the materials in your inventory, but uses the mats.
