Here are some install instructions. Hopefully they will save people some headaches:
(I will presume you know how to install 7-zip, which is used to unzip the downloaded file.)

1. Go to your downloads folder and unzip the “7d2d_FPSboost.7z” file (you will have a “7DaysToDie_Data” folder). We will come back to this folder later.
2. Go to your 7D2D program directory: In Steam, right click on 7D2D > Manage > Browse Local Files. (This will take you to some place like “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\” or another drive where you set up a second library location)
3. (Optional.) Back up your existing file: open the “7DaysToDie_Data” folder and rename the “boot.config” file to something like “boot.config.original”
4. Copy the “boot.config” file from the “7DaysToDie_Data” folder in your downloads (from step 1) to the “7DaysToDie_Data” folder (from step 2) in the 7D2D program directory.

* Alternatively, you can use your favorite text file editor to open the \7DaysToDie_Data\boot.config file (from step 2 above)
and replace all the text in the file with the following:

Hi, there are tutorial things that you can follow but the gist of it involves making a folder called ‘mods’ in the game directory. You then put the mods in that folder. Look up a tutorial though, as I did glaze over some important details.
